Mindfulness events

  • 21 August – ‘the gallery of the outdoors’, an outdoor evening of mindfulness (weather permitting) in Cheltenham, 7-8.30 pm.  This is a Tuesday and not our usual Monday evening for events.

Get in touch for exact location in Cheltenham – this is not in our usual meeting place of the Oasis but in North Cheltenham. We may be able to help with transport if needed.

There will be a range of activities, all optional. No charge or donation as there is no room hire cost but please book so we know you are coming and give you location details.

Sessions focus on the practice of mindfulness: growing our ability to live in the present. As part of learning to live well in the present, we also at times explore how we can learn from the past or help create the future.

We have an Essence code – or approach – that we adopt. We use the code as a reminder of the approach at the start of sessions – and you can read it here.

Sessions include guided meditation as well as time for individual reflection. Often it is by taking the time to reflect, to rest, and to be still that we each gain insight. We structure Essence events to allow for this time. There are also opportunities to share your experiences or simply listen to the experiences of others. Beyond these elements, each session has a blend of activities. These might include more active ways to reflect using a variety of materials, film, poetry or music. All activities are completely optional – with the kettle on throughout!
