We live one moment at a time. It isn’t a choice we make; it is reality.
But sometimes we don’t notice. We are drawn to the past or to the future, missing noticing the moment we are in. Or we are in the present moment but we still fail to notice it, distracted by the many different things happening within us (our thoughts and emotions) and around us. Unless we take time to notice, we miss it!
A.A. Milne can be described as a children’s writer – or a writer who expresses the child in all of us – and the truths that sometimes we know better as children than we do as adults. You too may love his characters, including Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet.
I love the moment when Pooh asked his friend: “What day is it?”
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.
Look afresh at your day; look for what is now. The good and the not-so-good. Take time to notice. Use your senses to experience life. Live. Life in all its fullness seems to start with . . . today.
